Parents, Grandparents, Caregivers & anyone working with children, join us for an informative workshop. Learn how to reduce power struggles and communicate effectively so your kids will listen. Register early and SAVE! $10 for registrations received through April 22; $15 day of event (Payable to the instructor on the 28th) Kristen Boice of Pathways to Healing Counseling & Education will lead the workshop.

CPR Certification

Al Wood is back to lead the CPR Certification class. $50, payable to the instructor at the time of class. Personal checks cannot be accepted the day of class.
This meets the requirements for daycare/foster care/teaching licensure, and general workplace. It includes First Aid and Universal precautions. This class is not healthcare provider level. You will receive your cards at the end of class.

Resume/Job Hunting
Saturday, April 30 - 11 am

Instructor Nancy Sherman will cover basic resume & cover letters, plus Internet job hunting resources. This is a free class.

Looking for a gift for Mother's Day? Designer Deanna Leonard will be on hand to assist with the creation of beaded jewelry. Materials will be provided. The cost will be according to pieces made. $3 - earrings,$5 - bracelet,$10 - necklace.
Registration is requested. Those patrons who register online will get a free fabric gift bag and tissue paper.

Racism in the Depression

Professor Sarah Heath, Ph.D, associate professor of History at IU Kokomo, will discuss racism in advertising (Aunt Jemima and "Mammy" images), popular "science" that suggested blacks and immigrants were inferior, and the prevalence of the KKK in the early 20th century.
This is tie-in with To Kill a Mockingbird, the winner of Hamilton County Reads 2011.

Friday, April 22 - 11 am
Introduction to Digital Photography
Indiana Room

Instructor Nancy Sherman will cover camera buying considerations, and camera details, including controls, image information, storage & responsiveness. This is a free class.
