Author Megan Powell

Hamilton North Public Library welcomes author Megan Powell at 6.30 pm on Tuesday, July 31.

Powell will read from her powerful debut novel, No Peace for the Damned.  Copies will be available for purchase.

Born and raised in the Midwest, Megan has cultivated a strange affinity for State Fairs and basketball humor. When not writing she is often found reading, frequently feeding her paranormal romance addiction. She loves cheap coffee with tons of sugar and can eat no-bake cookies by the dozen. While she doesn't necessarily consider exercising as a bad thing, she's certain that dieting is the work of the devil.

Facebook Changes

If you follow HNPL on Facebook, you may have noticed a decrease in posts from us on your news feed.  We've been posting, but due to some changes with Facebook, you won't have seen them.

They're implementing a "pay to post" system with pages for businesses, not-for-profits, celebrities, etc.  This is explained by Always Upward blog:

For Fans: How to keep receiving posts from FB pages you’ve “Liked”
1. Find a page you’ve “liked.”
2. Hover you mouse over the “Liked” button. Which may or may not work.
3. Try clicking the “Liked” button. That also may or may not work.
4. After clicking “Liked,” try hovering over it again. This may or may not work.
(Sensing a theme? Access isn’t consistent…nor intended to be easy, I have a feeling. Please keep trying.)
5. Once you (finally) get a drop down menu, confirm “Show in News Feed” is selected.
In theory, this should put all more posts from the page back in your newsfeed.

Nobody Needs to Know is a 40 minute one act play by Carol Bozena, and is a collaboration with AMHPA. (Awareness of Mental Health Through the Performing Arts, Inc.)

AMHPA raises awareness of mental health issues by providing education and insights through the performing arts. Nobody Needs to Know is a play written for seven people of various ages and diverse lifestyles. Their commonality is mental illness. Through a series of mini-dramas, audience members see what the members of AHMPA experience.
